UC-UCS - Installing Cisco UC on UCS

2 Days

Course Description

Learn to migrate current UC environments onto Cisco blade server technologies running VMware ESXi.

This course is intended for individuals who are responsible for migrating current Unified Communications (UC) environments onto Cisco blade server-based technologies running VMware® ESXi.

Unlike traditional server-based installations, Cisco UCS B-Series blade servers are configured through the Unified Computing System (UCS) Manager using Service Profiles. You will begin this course with a brief discussion of the changing data center server environment. You will learn where the Cisco UCS and Nexus switch products fit into this environment, and you'll examine LAN and storage (SAN) considerations.

You will get an overview of the UCS products, with emphasis on the advantages the UCS Manager brings to server provisioning. You will cover server provisioning through the use of easy-to-configure Service Profiles, and you will receive an overview of VMware, as VMware ESXi is an integral part of this installation. You will learn specific UC-on-UCS considerations, including minimum requirements, caveats, and recommendations.

Course Objectives
