Cisco ONS 15454 Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP) Release 8.5 Basic (ONS Basic) v.1

4-day Hands-on Cisco Authorized Course

Course Description

In this intense course, you'll get the skills necessary to deploy a Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP) network, including fiber-cleaning techniques, fiber test requirements, and node turn-up. Learn to deploy different dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) topologies using Cisco Transport Planner (CTP) to provision the Cisco ONS 15454 Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP). This course is designed to give you significant hands-on time with the comprehensive classroom hardware and labs to validate the lessons learned in lecture.

Course Objective

After completing this course the student will learn about:

  • Connect and configure a Cisco ONS 15454 MSTP chassis
  • Identify node configurations according to card population
  • Characterize the role of CTP in turning up an MSTP network
  • Provision DWDM circuits using Cisco Transport Controller
  • Perform performance monitoring, alarm verification, and fault isolation
  • Isolate "optical" network issues

Intended Audience

Network professionals responsible for installation, deployment, and maintenance of the Cisco ONS 15454 MSTP; Network operations, planners, and designers.
