| Lab 1: Chassis Population
Set up the classroom network by populating the chassis with cards and configuring IP addresses.
Lab 2: Fiber Installation and Test
Test fiber, install ring spans, and calculate span loss.
Lab 3: Hardware and Engineering and Planning
Review how backplanes affect card capacity and configuration and determine how XC capacity is calculated.
Lab 4: Cisco Transport Controller
Install and configure Cisco Transport Controller on the classroom laptop. Next, configure a static router on a Cisco ONS 15454. Practice navigating an optical switch with Cisco Transport Controller and finally perform some simple troubleshooting of your Cisco Transport Controller installation.
Lab 5: UPSR Installation
Provision a Cisco ONS 15454 for UPSR. Set up a physical ring topology and set up management communications between nodes over the SONET Data Communication Channel (DCC).
Lab 6: Create DS1 and DS3 UPSR Circuits
Perform end-to-end provisioning by creating multiple circuits. Define a circuit from where it enters the ring (traffic added) to where some of the traffic exits the ring (traffic dropped).
Lab 7: Testing DS-3 Circuits
Create a hard loopback DS-3 circuit and test the circuit using a test set.
Lab 8: Create a BLSR Ring
Using skills gained from creating a UPSR ring, create a BLSR ring. Test an OC-3 circuit and add a ring to and drop a ring from the node.
Lab 9: Ethernet Provisioning
Configure two separate Ethernet VLAN point-to-point circuits between two nodes. Verify that the two VLANs are separate and mutually accessible. |
