Deploy, Maintain, and Troubleshoot Cisco IOS XR Software on the Cisco Carrier Routing System and the Cisco XR 12000 Series Router (DMT) v2

5-day Hands-on class

Course Description

In this advanced hands-on course you will acquire the skill and knowledge to maintain and troubleshoot Cisco IOS® XR Software in a typical network deployment. In addition to the practical experience you will gain during 18 hands-on lab exercises, the job aids and reference materials provided enable you to rapidly apply the techniques learned in this course.

The course revolves around a network deployment case study in which you incrementally convert an existing network into a topology using the Cisco® Carrier Routing System (CRS-1), the Cisco XR 12000 Series Router, and Cisco IOS XR Software. During this process you will learn the methods, tools, and commands used to monitor and evaluate system performance, follow the life-of-a-packet in both the hardware and software paths, convert Cisco IOS Software configurations to Cisco IOS XR Software configurations, and convert route policy to routing policy language.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, the student will be able to:

  • Monitor the Cisco IOS XR Software operating system
  • Manage configurations with Cisco IOS XR Software
  • Deploy the Cisco CRS-1 into an existing network
  • Troubleshoot traffic flow on the Cisco CRS-1
  • Perform Cisco IOS XR Software emergency recovery operations on the Cisco CRS-1 and Cisco XR 12000
  • Troubleshoot traffic flow on the Cisco XR 12000
  • Troubleshoot packet forwarding on Cisco IOS XR Software
  • Deploy and verify quality of service (QoS) on the Cisco CRS-1
