Course Description

Learn to manage your network using the applications in version 3.0 of CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution (LMS). In this course, you'll work with:

  • CiscoWorks Common Services 3.1
  • Campus Manager 5.0
  • Resource Manager Essentials 4.1
  • Device Fault Manager 3.0
  • Internetwork Performance Monitor 4.0
  • CiscoView 6.1
  • The LMS Portal 1.0 and the CiscoWorks Assistant 1

 

Course Objectives

After completing this course, the student should be able to:

  • Better manage your network
  • Discover the Cisco devices in your network
  • Visualize the topology of your network, including links between Cisco devices and Layer 2 spanning tree topologies
  • Collect and track accurate inventory data from Cisco devices
  • Automatically maintain a historical archive of the configurations on all of your Cisco devices as the configurations change over time
  • Update the configurations on the Cisco devices on your network, including pushing similar configuration changes to many devices at the same time
  • Build a library of Cisco operating systems and update the operating systems running on your Cisco devices
  • Track and analyze network performance including latency and jitter tests
  • Detect potentially complex fault situations on your Cisco devices
  • Set up a multiserver trust relationship between multiple CiscoWorks servers and tie LMS to CiscoSecure Access Control Server for AAA functions
  • Maintain your CiscoWorks LMS server

Network administrators, managers, and technicians who need a more efficient way of managing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches in their networks.

  • ICND1
  • BSCI
  • Knowledge of basic Cisco IOS and Cisco Catalyst operating system commands
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP
