Cisco Multi-protocol Storage Essentials v2.0 (CMSE) - 3-day Course

Course Designed and Developed for Cisco by CCI

Course Description

Improve the performance and reliability of your existing Fibre Channel SAN infrastructure and reduce the total cost of ownership. This once daunting and expensive task is now simpler and less costly using Cisco's MDS 9000 family of products. Cisco's MDS 9000 IP Storage Services (IPS) module handles IP-related storage transport solutions on the same physical chassis that handles Fibre Channel, and you can extend your SAN coverage to the Metropolitan or Wide Area Network.

This course teaches you to consolidate distributed storage using iSCSI and FCIP, to cost effectively connect remote SAN Islands, and to maximize the use of iSCSI and FCIP with Cisco SAN solutions. Examine the full suite of Cisco SAN extension solutions. Learn how to implement Inter-VSAN Routing (IVR). Learn important details of the iSCSI and FCIP protocols, and configure and troubleshoot iSCSI and FCIP in a real-world lab environment on the MDS 9000 IPS module.
