Cisco Specialization Overview

Overview

Cisco Qualified Specialist

The Cisco Qualified Specialist designation certifies the expertise of experienced technical professionals, and those who have earned associate or professional-level Cisco Career Certifications. By earning specialist certifications, network professionals can enhance their core networking knowledge in technologies such as security, IP telephony, and wireless.

Many Cisco Qualified Specialist certifications align with the requirements of the Cisco Partner Specialization program.

Cisco Partner Specialization Program

The Cisco Partner Specialization Program allows your organization to develop and demonstrate its expertise in technologies, solutions, and services through structured training road maps and a knowledge validation process. This expertise enables your company to differentiate itself from competitors, pursue new markets, and migrate to higher margin services-based and solutions-based business models. Cisco Specialized Partners can be recognized for their proven technical knowledge and/or their ability to deliver services around the latest Cisco technology.

Partner Specialization Overview

The Cisco Channel Partner Program integrates the technology focus of each Cisco Partner Specialization, flexible individual career certification requirements, customer satisfaction targets, and pre- and post-sales support capabilities. These elements make up the points-based structure of the overall program requirements. There are three partner certification levels: Gold Certification, Silver Certification, and Premier Certification.

The integration of Specializations requires every partner to specialize in technology areas as part of the program requirement. You may choose the technology area for Specialization, but must earn a minimum number of Specialization points to become certified. You may decide to be strictly a specialized partner or specialize your organization as a means to achieving certification.

Technology Specializations

Cisco Technology Specializations provide partners with training in a specific technology or solution area that covers presales, basic deployment, and post-sales operational support. Partners become familiar with specific Cisco products and/or applications and focus on a minimum foundation of skills necessary to implement and maintain the solution. These specializations recognize partners for demonstrating competencies in core and emerging Cisco technologies, and for integration expertise with software applications complementary to a technology. By choosing a Cisco Technology Specialized partner, customers know the partner has the core knowledge and skills required to deploy the technology or solution. Cisco revises requirements on a regular basis, depending on market conditions.

Services Specializations

Cisco Services Specializations enable and recognize partners that have the knowledge and skills to deliver planning, design, and implementation services for typically complex network environments. They are also targeted to partners with formal professional services practices. Cisco Services Specializations require additional investments in staff, training, labs (where deemed appropriate), and infrastructure that prepare partners to better serve customers with exceptionally demanding projects in terms of scale and complexity.

As conditions of entry, Cisco Services Specializations require the corresponding Cisco Technology Specialization as a prerequisite, as well as achievement of specified customer satisfaction ratings.

Global Commerce Specialization

The Cisco Global Commerce Specialization recognizes partners that have a global presence and have demonstrated capability in providing commercial and logistics services to global customers. Cisco Global Commerce Specialized Partners must demonstrate achievement in the following areas: global order management, invoicing, product delivery logistics, and negotiating global customer agreements.

As conditions of entry, partners must meet the following prerequisites: global resale agreement with Cisco, silver or gold certification in at least one country in each Cisco theatre, and legal presence in at least 20 countries.
